World Council

The workspace of the World Council — the highest council of the Order of the Watchfire and, until the Order federates, everyone’s council (see governance). This directory is also the template for every future council: copy its shape for a national, state, or sect council.

What’s here

• README.md — this file: what the council is and where it stands.
• members/ — a page per member in this council’s scope.
• decisions/ → the Decision Records this council issues. The World Council’s decisions are the Order’s, so this points at the repo’s main decisions/.
• Canon symlinks (morals.md, creed.md, charges/, governance.md, …) → the rules this council operates under, pointing at the root canon. Future councils keep the same names but may swap a symlink for their own file where they add local canon — additive only (see ../README.md).

Seats

A council holds an odd number of seats (minimum three) once the Order is large enough to fill them. At founding it stands with its first member, and seats fill by election as the World Sect grows (see governance).

Current events

• Founding (2026). The Order’s canon has been drafted and the World Sect opened. First order of business: bring in the founding members and award the first Charges.
